To be honest, this is one scenario that I have always wanted to try. I'm assuming that you mean that you re-create the control file from a "controlfile to trace" dump, adjusting paths where necessary, and then starting the standby? If the directory layout structure is exact on both systems, can you also achieve the same results by copying the primary control file over? Just curious.<br>
