Helmut,

This is what replication is made for. You've got to know what you're getting in to though. Replication can be tough to implement and manage. Best get someone with experience using replication.

Much of what you need depends on your transaction levels. Be aware of network requirements, volume of data replicated, availability requirements, etc...

And, of course, there are other options; there are ALWAYS other options.
