Richard,
What is the size of your SGA? and the memory on your server.? The reason I ask is that a friend of mine has a NT server with 4GIG memory = and 1.5GIG SGA. Only 25 connections are allowed. If the SGA is reduced to = 1GIG all connections are allowed. I have not heard the final resolution = but I thing that it has to do with the memory allocation and usage = combination. Oracle is using more memory for the binaries and each = connection and the memory allocated gets used up.

Thanks,

Hi All,

Oracle 8.0.5,NT 4.0

I am getting the above error in trying to make new connects. I had = several
connections going,sql*plus,
pro*c program(been working for years, etc. After the pro*c program been running a couple of hours I got
the above error and all other connections are refused. These have been working in the past so I do not
know what is now causing. Of course I can bounce the server and I suspect = I
will be able to connect
but I would like to know what is causing it.

Thanks
