Saroj,

It would depend on the number of concurrent users. Each user would be allocated a process. The background processes also get a process each.

Add the number of background processes and the expected number of concurrent

users and set the process value higher.

Do not set this value too high cause I think it has an effect on the semaphores and the size of the controlfile.

For an OLTP application maybe 200 or 300 processes should be fine. Increase if necessary.

Regarding the PROCESS parameter in INIT.Ora what will be the size to be recomended for a OLTP application.  

If we do more what is the problem will you face and what the size will be ?Now the size is 100 for one instance another is 2000 .please suggest me, Saroj.
