Our Client is an Internet Service Provider. They want to switch from 8.0.5 to 8.1.5. My question is, what would be the best method they can adopt for this? They don't want to use the migration utility. And full import of their Database takes something like 3 days.
I have suggested that they put 8.1.5 on a test machine and apply the full import on it. That way the new database would be 3 days behind the one running on 8.0.5. And then they can start applying the incremental exports on the new DB- till the time difference between the two is reduced to a minimum.
Now, I don't know how correct this approach is. I would really appreciate if someone could help me out.
