OFF-TOPIC: ODBC and FileMaker

I can connect to Oracle8 and retrieve records into FM5 (via FM's Import-Records).

But I would like to be able to retrieve only one row from the Oracle database based on the value in the current field in the current record in FileMaker.

How do I specify the current FM-field in the Oracle-Select Where-clause? I have tried the usuall:

       ...
       where name = :FM_NAME

but with no luck.
