It should be fine if you use different oracle homes for each version. Ruth

Hi, even though Oracle says, it is possible, to run different versions under Open VMS 7.2-1 I was wondering if it is true. I need to find out, if it is possible to run 8.1.6 EE and 7.3.4 version on the same machine.
We were experimenting with 2 Oracle homes both for a 8.1.6 EE and have problems as oracle uses a lot of system logicals. Also certain process names must be unique.
Didi anyone really try to keep 7.3.4 and 8.1.6 both parallel on th esame machine?
Any problems, risks?
Regards,
Antje Sackwitz
