You have to watch out for how to change the password when expiration happens. SQLPLUS automatically asks you what you want for a new one. Other utilities might not. I believe that you can't simply unexpire the password as the DBA. Worth checking into before you implement, even if you can stand all the phone calls (esp if they will all expire at one time). (I am speaking from experiments with Oracle's Discoverer client-server product).

If you are on 8.x the answer is yes. You can use user profiles to age and force password rules.

Hi all -

Is there any way to set a users' password to expire every 30 days or something? I see in the doco that I can expire passwords immediately, but I don't see how I can set up recurring password expiration. I could do it through cron I guess but what a pain... !

Thanks for any suggestions
