Hello,

Apparently the view sys.order_object_by_dependency has dissappeared with the oracle 8.1.6.2.0 patch set. It exists in an 8.1.6.00 database which I have not yet patched but dissappeared in an 8.1.6.2.0 database I recently patched. According to a note on Metalink an Oracle support person filed a bug and then later said "the bug I filed, 1414986 was closed as not a bug. It seems it was intended and is part of the fix of bug 895238, fixed in 8.1.7."

Looking through the scripts in $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin nothing creates this view. In earlier versions it was created by the prvtutil.plb script. Has anyone come across this problem and resolved it after applying the 8.1.6.2.0 patch set?

Thanks.

I like to pick up hitchhikers. When they get in the car I say, 'Put on your seat belt. I want to try something. I saw it once in a cartoon, but I think I can do it.' Received on Tue Nov 21 2000 - 18:10:26 CST
