RE: problem with TNSPING

Maybe the socket ? I have seen it before, and if I remember correctly-it may have been related to the process/socket in a "FIN/WAIT 2" state.

but it's been a long time so I could be mistaken..

on Unix server(sun Solaris)I am trying to do

this is returning an error

TNS 03506 fail to create address binding

• normal ping is successful
• is this operating system problem or Oracle problem
• Sever has got 1gb memory and 2gb swap area
