Hi all,

I'm faced with a strange problem and frankly I don't have the experience to know what I should be looking for :

For whatever reason unknown all background-processes die. The listener also stops.
The status of all sessions is turned into Active but our SQL*FORMS en SQL*MENU application won't connect to the database. Simply returns : working ...

I can find nothing in the alert.log concern the death of the background-processes, I can't find seperate trace-files of either of these processes.

The only thing I find when rebooting the system (the only thing that seems to work well enough to leave the DB running for the remainder of the day) are trace files containing :

Dump file /opt/oracle/oracle72/rdbms/log/ora_10749.trc Oracle7 Server Release 7.2.3.0.0 - Production Release PL/SQL Release 2.2.3.0.0 - Production
ORACLE_HOME = /opt/oracle/oracle72
ORACLE_SID = tax

Node name:      HP982828

*** SESSION ID:(39.78) 2000.11.08.09.41.11.885 Received unhandled signal: 15, code=0
Terminating.

I really, REALLY, need some major help with this !!!

Oracle 7.2.3
HP-UX 10.20

If anybody has any clue or any pointer what I should look at, or where, anything at all, from the most obvious (I might be overlooking something like a true rookie) to the most unlikely, please say so !!! Received on Wed Nov 08 2000 - 02:56:53 CST
