Hi All,

We are doing some investigation/preparation for some new work and would like to know if you can use Win2000 active directory to authenticate users trying to connect to an Oracle 8i database running on a Solaris 2.7 So that no users have to be added to each or any of up to 25 databases. They would have to be administered through the active directory, in regards to which databases they can connect to and their database roles etc.

When you install Oracle 8i on the Win200 box you get an option to use Oracle Internet directory or the Windows Active Directory, do you get any choices like that on the Solaris?

Anyone had any experience with something like this?

Many thanks for any help that might be able to be provided. Received on Tue Nov 07 2000 - 18:55:38 CST
