Ditto, Lee didn't do anything wrong. Also, if Patrice (spelling?) wants to answer questions like that, she'll spend all her time on the list. By the way, Patrice (spelling?) wouldn't be able to help the original poster by getting a copy of the original poster's script. Patrice will have to have the ERD and the knowledge of the business requirements.

As funny as it seems, there is a parameter that can make an ORDER BY clause run faster. Although I do not recommend it as the answer, but one could set SORT_AREA_SIZE to a high number so all the sorting is done in memory.
