As long as the privlege to access this object is granted to this user
(dw_user), it does not matter what tablespace it is in.

You probably got the concept of default tablespace wrong. It means that if you don't specify the tablespace clause, the object (table/index) which you created will go to that tablespace.

For pure "access" of that object, Oracle does not care which tablespace it is in as long as you go the privilege.

Subject: 8.1.6 support multiple default tablespaces

Hi All,

Does anyone out there know whether or not if 8.1.6 supports the ability to allow
a schema to point to more than one tablespace.

Let me give you an example.

dw_user wants to access Data Warehouse data on tablespace dw_tablespace dw_user also wants to access OLTP data on tablespace oltp_tablespace

user account: dw_user

can dw_user point to both of these tablespaces?

Thanks

larry
