To run connection pooling you need to be running Oracle 8.0 or better and have both MTS and Connection manager up and running. There is really very little that the developer can do on this.

Dear DBA gurus,

One of our developers has setup the connection pooling feature using java programs. He doesn't know whether whatever he has implemented is right or not? As a DBA how do I test whether Oracle is using the connection pooling feature or not? Also how do I limit the number of connections to a database as a DBA? Any useful information regarding this query will be highly appreciated.

TIA, Ranganath
