To check if your OS has 64-bit enabled:

$ isainfo -v
BM_997199
You should get the following output, if 64-bit is enabled on your operating system:

64-bit sparcv9 applications
BM_99720032-bit sparc applications

To check if your Oracle is 64-bit,

The banner message when you invoke server manager or sqlplus will indicate 64-bit.

I've also downloaded the Oracle 8.1.6.2 32-bit patch for Solaris 2.6 but I'm not sure whether the currently installed Oracle 8.1.6.0 is a 32-bit or 64-bit version.

Could you please let me know how to check the Solaris kernel is running 32 or 64-bit.

TIA
Andrew
