32-bit Oracle should work fine on 64-bit enabled Solaris 2.7.

64-bit enabled means you can run either 32-bit or 64-bit applications.

If you want the performance benefits of 64-bit, you will have to order the 64-bit Oracle SW from Oracle.

Your answer is pretty good, but I still have questions:

  1. if "file oracle" show "32-bits MSB ...", but Solaris kernel is 64 bits. Can I still apply patch 8.1.6.2 or not?
  2. Base on ORACLE patch 8.1.6.2 readme file, Solaris kernel need 32 bits. Is it true?
  3. where can I find 64 bits ORACLE software?

Thanks.
