I agree...
... but maybe it would be usefull to grow up redo files a bit...

I mean, It's not only the recovery issues what makes the desition of = one
size from another... It's also the kind of management of data (oltp, = dss...)
... or simply the solution is making storage to a safe place...

and, if I remember, the question was about having 3 days of archive = redo for
a recovery...
... I'm only worried about the kind of backup... If physicaly backups = are
made everyday, 3 days of redo saved are enough ;-))

just curious, but what are the recovery issues if you are only = switching
every=20
1/2 hour?...I understand the cost of generating archive logs at 4 a = minute
but=20
if it's 1 every 30 minutes don't you run the risk of loosing 30MG of = data if
a=20
crash were to happen?
