When I found myself in your position I refered to the Oracle Press book Oracle Backup and Recovery Handbook. The edition I read was applicable thru Oracle 7.3, however there is a new edition covering Version 8. This was a great resource for me, and should meet your backup recovery needs.

  Hi,

I am a new Oracle DBA and I am asked to design a backup and recovery strategy for our databases which are running on Solaris. The version is 8.1.6

Is there any site or any one has got a document which explains about how to design an effective backup and recovery strategy.

  TIA
  Kumar
