I dont have 8.1.7 yet, but i can't imagine it going away, its the only portable way to move data between OS.

now the incremental, complete and cumulaive options are going away but export itself going away, highly unlikely anytime soon(at least not until you can plug and pray tablespaces between different OS) ;)
