The other answers about set serverout are correct, but I'd also like to point out that you are not closing your cursor. Diana

Hi guys,

How do we solve this problem?
i have a small procedure as below with 100 records,

CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE EMP_LOOP_DAT as V_table_name tc_tang_tables.table_name%type; v_descr tc_tang_tables.descr%type;
cursor c1 is
  select table_name,descr from tc_tang_tables; BEGIN
   open c1;
   loop

      fetch c1 into v_table_name,v_descr;
      dbms_output.put_line(v_table_name||'
'||v_descr);
      exit when c1%notfound;

   end loop;
end emp_loop_dat;

I am getting error message after displaying some records as below,

BEGIN emp_loop_dat; END;

*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-20000: ORU-10027: buffer overflow, limit of 2000 bytes

ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_OUTPUT", line 106
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_OUTPUT", line 65
ORA-06512: at "TANGRAM.EMP_LOOP_DAT", line 13
ORA-06512: at line 1

What should i do to solve this?

Varma.
