No time to research, and I know this list has some really good people with kind hearts who can answer this:

When a db link is created, and someone does any dml to an object through that link, can someone sniff out the username/password through the port that is defined for sqlnet? In other words, is this sent as clear text each time the link is used? or is it sent once when the link is created? or is this encrypted in any way?
