We had a bad experience with Oracle 8i on Win2k, we intended to give it a try but the Oracle 8i java based installer would quit without a word when we pushed any button on the splash screen.

On the other hand, we replaced the box with an identical and it went fine. Who knows what was the cause for the abort?!

We are going to be upgrading to Oracle 8i before the end of the year on an new box and I am trying to decide whether to stick with WinNT 4.0 SP5 or move to Windows 2000.

Is anyone running Oracle 8i on Windows 2000?

Any problems, recommendations, etc.?
