Steve,
That site is wonderful... I wonder if we have such facility in the US, where mails can be sent to a Cell Phone / Pager Automatically, without connecting a modem to the Server's computer.

Does anybody know of a similar service, where we send a mail to say "7031234567_at_xxyy.com" and a Page is sent automatically to the Pager Number "703-123-4567" by xxyy.com...

That would be fantastic!
Rama

Hi guys an gals,

We have set up monitoring and alerting, so that should an error/event occur, then an email is generated and sent to a number of places depending on the event. One of these is sending an email to an email/sms exchange, which then forwards that message to my phone.

Currently I have set this up so that all sms messages are sent to www.genie.co.uk which is BT's attempt at doing this. The problem here though is that the turn around time is taking hours from the time the event occurred to the time a message is received on my funky little phone. I feel this is mainly due to the high traffic that this site now gets.

My question is - has anybody set this up with another site at all? - Especially with UK providers. I have browsed the web a bit, but it is mostly sending SMS directly from the web site. Cost is not an option, the only real requirement is that it works well, and it works FAST!! Any messages going through to my phone are strictly urgent! It's just a shame that genie doesn't feel that way :~)

TIA Mark

Mark Leith
