As a Technical Support Engineer that look after Oracle applications, I = have many customers that are using Oracle on NT Platform running with no = or minimal problems. The answer on rather you want to platform on = LINUX or NT depends on which operating system your DBA and System = Administrators are more comfortable. A lot of my customers choose the = NT platform because it is easy to administrate. Often, the Oracle DBA = is also the NT System Administrator.

For small to mid Database system, NT will work fine. Linux will work = fine under this environment as well. =20

  Oh please, there is more support and chance of getting something = fixed in linux world than EVER IN WINDOZE world. Just how do you = expect something like NT to run business critical apps when the solution = for anything that goes wrong is reboot or reload.=20   yea this is a sore spot, cuz M$ sucks, the software sucks, the company = sucks people's money.=20

.=20
        I.e which OS is better for hosting an Oracle DB on PC ?=20
