The way I read it, Solaris is the only OS where the bug has been detected = and fixed. Bug not an issue on HPUX, LINUX, AIX and Tru64. Other OS's - = NT, VMS, Digital UNIX, etc untested so they may also have the problem.

Yes, but it affects only Sun Solaris SPARC platform, 32bit and 64bit, = Oracle
Server and Oracle Enterprise Server 8.0.X through 8.1.6. Please see the note : 118228.1 in Oracle MetaLink. Patches are available for all the version.
