compatible parameter in init.ora

Hi all ! (once again)

I wanted to resize a datafile on 7.3.2.3.0 on HP-UX 10.20, but the engine "answered" me the compatible parameter in initSID.ora was no set correctly...
This parameter is not set in this BD.

What is the impact of setting this parameter to a version or another ? (except I will be able to resize a datafile after next startup...)
