Is the Tuesday get together still at 7pm at chevy's.
I don't know whether I would need the rental car from Monday to Thursday but heck I am going to keep it anyway in case. Lucky me I got booked into hotel Nikko I heard that it is a very good hotel and pricey too(I think I deserve this with all the overtime I have to put up with for the last 2yrs i.e 12-14hrs a day).
C'ya at the Sunday night party or meet you at Chevy's (if someone can confirm)

Taxis are NOT widely available.... but lots of car service cars willing to stop for people and take (illegal) fares. Trolleys aren't all that bad but there are usually long lines.
Having said that, I'm not renting a car, but I don't intend (other than Sunday) to be too far from where the conference and my hotel are.
Chinatown is fun, I'm doing fisherman's wharf (well, Irish coffee near there) and then a tour of Alcatraz with a few people on Sunday, but we are doing this before your flight lands :(
and I plan on going to the Sunday event -- any chance I can get to dance, you know I'm there :) Besides, it ends around 9PM, lots of time to go play after that (oh wait, I'm presenting on Monday morning... early to bed <G>)
