Is your check point interval to small causing the log to switch and = archive the log?

Hi,

I am using Oracle 8iR2 on WinNT in archive log mode. There's a job which enforces logswitch every 5 minutes. It would take some time to explain why this is necessary, but we can not change this. The funny thing about this is, that although data flow is VERY low, hardy 20-30 records change in = this
time gap, still archived log file size vary between 64kB and 1 MB?=20

Dose some one have an idea, what may cause this big variance in file = size?=20
