Thanks for the update. I have found that on a Novell network with Veritas = backup exec that the cpu is running at 50% or more after a backup and the = network card is sending and receiving traffic into a black hole. The = network group has not resolved the problem yet, but a "reset router" = command clears the cpu usage and the server is normal again. Thanks,

Hello,

To all who is interested it was a network card in the server that for some reason was working in the half duplex mode instead of full duplex. The = port
the box was connected to is running in the full duplex. Thus the traffic collisions, higher CPU load, etc.
