What a coincidence. I just talked with one of our team leads about this on Wednesday. He sent a request to have a package recompiled because three procedures had been deprecated. I sent him back a reply asking what deprecated meant in this context. I'd only heard it used in the context of deprecating or self-deprecating humor (as in making fun of someone or yourself).

He looked it up in Webster's dictionary and said it had several meanings. One of them had to do with praying for relief or something like that. I thought that was appropriate.
