If you search for "stop defragmenting" on metalink you should find the = paper that has"paper#711" in the lower right corner. It was thete last = week.

Hello Gurus

I am posting this question again, in anticipation of that some ideas would come over.

I have a question that how do I calculate the required initial and next extent on a tablespace and a table. The scenario is I have a tablespace which is fragmented a lot and have many data files. This tablespace has many tables with different sizes. Now I want to export the tablespace with compress=3Dy option and want to import them in a big datafiles of 2gig each.

In order to do that I want to have a different set of storage parameters.

I have the query for used extents and available extents on table and fragmentation on tablespoace.

What would be an appropriate calculation ??

Thanks much

MCG
