Hi all,

We currently are working with another company to build a system that has = an Oracle database on our side communicate with an Oracle database at = their site. We are using a DBLink to insert into their database. Right = now we have a frame relay connection directly to them, and everything is = working fine. They are saying that they would like to eliminate the cost = of the frame relay and use the Internet for communicating between the two = databases. My question is, are any of you doing a similar thing? What = are the performance/security issues of sending SQL*NET traffic through two = firewalls and over the Internet? Is it even feasable to do this, or do we = need to change the architecture of the application to utilize FTP or some = other method of communication instead of database links.

Any insight would be appreciated.
