*Description:

We have an Oracle DBA opportunity available with an excellent company in Jacksonville,
Florida that needs a Sr. DBA to join its' I.T. team. This is a Peoplesoft environment, however training will be provided so prior= =20
Peoplesoft experience is not required.

*Duties/Comments:

Perform product upgrades and install database patches. Attend weekly meetings with senior management to provide team status. Interface with Applications and Data Administration personnel regarding physical database design and management from a project management perspective. Provide consulting services to applications regarding the best use of the Oracle Database Management System (DBMS) technology. Install and upgrade new releases of the Oracle DBMS software. Support application testing and production operations. Perform physical database management including planning, developing, designing, implementing and maintaining physical Oracle database structures. Ensure the backup, recovery, archival, performance tuning, space management, and change review for physical Oracle databases. Perform as a team lead for 3-4 Oracle DBAs. Provide mentoring to junior DBAs. =20 Direct work assignments and oversee career development. Assist with performance reviews with the overall manager.

• Requirements: BS degree in computer science or equivolent.=B7 4-5 years experience as a Data Base Administrator with the Oracle DBMS. 3-4 years experience on UNIX including writing shell scripts and running OS utilities are required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Leadership skills required for team lead role. Need a strong understanding of hardware/software required the build distributed applications, UNIX, Tuxedo, C programming. - *MUST be a U.S. citizen (NO perm residents or H-1's)
