Re: ORA-12500: TNS: listener failed to start a dedicated server

Hi Anil & Lyall,

Thanks for your replies. I checked all the parameters in 'init.ora' and all the Unix system parameters, but I didn't see anything wrong. I suspected my swap space might be too small. What I did was I re-installed Unix OS , increased the size of the swap space, and then of course installed again Oracle 8i with the same parameters of my previous installation.

So far, it works fine.....
