Stuart,

Never been to Stowe but Whistler is HUGE with lots of tourist facilities/services so I would think you could arrange for day care services there. My in-laws live in BC so when we ski'd Whistler the Grandma was able to get a gondola pass and watch our year old first born child in the lodge on top of the mountain. We were able to bring a portable play pen with us on the gondola. Some of the California resorts have a "Parents Pass" where you pay for one lift ticket and take turns watching the little one. They may have something like that at Whistler too as it seems to be a trend. In the worst case, the facilities on the top of the mountain are such that you and mom can set up a pen in the lodge and take turns. Now I have 3 kamikaze kids and we all ski down the mountain together as a family so you have something to look forward to. Now the kids are 6, 8, and 10 and they like to play the "let's try to keep up with Daddy" game... but I foresee the day when I'll be eatin' their powder. Sigh... Anyway, if you can't find any day care services at Whistler just let me know and I'll rent out Grandma. :-)

A quick diversion from all those important technical questions that trouble us every day.

I am planning a skiing trip to North America for March 2001, I think either Whistler or Stowe are favourites at the moment (any comments). The trouble is my darling daughter who will be 9 months old next March. I need to find somewhere that will cater for crhche facilities for children this young. The few that I have contacted have said that they only look after children from 18mths +. There must be some of you who have dumped your kids to go off skiing, can you give me some advice / contacts.

Sorry for distracting you all from your work, especially if you live nowhere near North America :-)

TIA Stuart
