tracing with sqlnet

Hello all,

I have a question about tracing with sqlnet. In our production environment, at $ORACLE_HOME/network/trace, there are three files:

cli.cdf
cli.dat
cli.trc

cli.cdf is kinda funky. cli.trc looks like a pretty straight forward trace file, but cli.dat, I don't dare more or cat or vi because it's 2 gig in size. Ummm, anybody know what this is? I've seen the .dat files in $ORACLE_HOME/otrace get pretty large, but this other one is huge.

Help?

Thanks,
Lyall Barbour
