I miss-read the path. The alert logs are generally at $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/tr= ace.

What are the names of the files. That is the place where your alert logs = are place and any dump couls be directed there. Ron ROgers

           I have noticed large trace files in $ORACLE_HOME/network/trace directory .
I checked up my sqlnet.ora and listener.ora on server end but no tracing has been enabled.
Can any body tell me why these files are their.
