Re: large trace files

My alert logs are in $ORACLE_HOME/otrace because that is where I have the backgroun_dum_dest set it my init<sid>.ora. In other words, you can set them to be anywhere in the init<sid>.ora. Check that parameter in v$parameters to see where yours are going.

What are the names of the files. That is the place where your alert logs are place and any dump couls be directed there. Ron ROgers

           I have noticed large trace files in $ORACLE_HOME/network/trace directory .
I checked up my sqlnet.ora and listener.ora on server end but no tracing has been enabled.
Can any body tell me why these files are their.
