RE: ORACLE 8i 81620 patch come out !!/What's Bug:1324305

I installed the patch Saturday morning; there were no relinking errors. The only glitch came when issuing the create java system command; it indicated part of thew system was in use. When the command was re-issued, it ran to completion without error. On hindsight, I probably should have shutdown the JVM before issuing the command.

The verbage on one of the bug fixes is:

Recovery 8162 673508 There is a race condition which can result in ORA-600[KCBLBI_1] during a hot backup. If this occurs the hot backup should be considered useless and a fresh backup taken. There is no corruption to the database but the backup itself must be considered bad. Note: The 8.1.6.2 version of this fix may cause ORA-600 [510] errors See <Bug:1324305>.

Does anyone know about Bug:1324305. Nothing shows up on Metalink when the bug number is searched. If one goes to Bug: 673508, and then clinks on the hyperlink to Bug:1324305 a page pops up stating the bug either doesn't exists, is not public, is on something for which one is not licensedd, or is too old to be in the database.

I believe I answered this on _the_other_list.

We are running Solaris 2.7. Created a new Oracle_Home and installed the 8.1.6.0 CD.
Installed the patch. Refused to link because of unresolved symbols.

Opened up an iTAR. No superfast response as expected based on Oracles emphasizing
iTARs over telephone calls.

I suspect Oracle is trying to figure out whether or not to reply in a conference call or
e-mail distribution list to all those who I suspect opened up iTARs against the new
end-all, be-all, fix-all.
