Partition Table

Friends,

I am having one table with 7,000,000 records. This table is having data for every year like 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000. I am planning to use partition table feature. I will have different partition by range, and history partition tablespace, I will make as read-only.

One more thing in this table is - History data never gets updated.

Is this possible? And Is this recommended to do??

Just to make backup and recovery procedure easy, I am making tablespace as Read-Only.

Any suggestions???
