Yeah but if they just paid us $401,000.00 it would make retirement planning

401k is the name of a savings plan in the US ...... usually the company will
match some of the funds you put in for savings. There a tax benefits as well
in the US.
I think many European companies have mandatory plans that companies are
required to fund, but that is not the case here in the US.
