John,
We periodically re-clone our Testing instance from our Production instance. Full-sized, nothing left out. Can't beat that for testing with. Worth the disk space. In fact, I have two full-sized non-production instances, one for users to train and experiment with, and one just for me as DBA to work on (testing backups, etc).
