But still I would appreciate if some-one could tell me how to check the current Block size in Unix File System. I am on Digital Unix 4.0 D with UFS. I guess that the current Unix Block Size is 8K, but Oracle Block size is set to 2K, what are the disadvantages of this (there could rarely be any advantage)?? It's an old installation and I have a chance to rectify the (error in) block size (upgrading from 7.3.4 to 8.1.5). But the maxm avg_row_len is less than 400. Any other specific issues/concerns you would like to forewarn me ???
