At our site we have a single Unix user (oracle) that owns all the = instances. We wrote a .profile script that gives the user a list of = instances and asks them what database they want to administer. After they = select it sets the various environmental information (ORACLE_HOME, = ORACLE_BASE, SID....etc).

I need an opinion, experience.

When you have multiple instances running on the same server do you think that it is better that each database has its own unix user/owner or that each database has its own unix user.=20

I don't remember OFA mentioning anything about that ?
