Hello List.

I need to figure out how to install Oracle 8.1.6 on a "hardened" unix = operating system outside of the firewall. In other words, many of the = routine functions and accesses that are typically found on unix systems = inside of a firewall are not available. This includes the elements = necessary to run X sessions. According to Oracle support, X-windows is = required to install 8.1.6. But my unix sys admin is reluctant to install = X-windows on this unix box because of security reasons. Has anyone run = into this situation? =20

Thanks
