There is a great article at http://sw.expert.com look under the Storage section. This is a great article on RAID technologies. It explains in depth, where they are and where they are going. Some useful links are also provided.

Hi Folks,

I've finished reading some material of RAID levels and their advs/disadvs for Oracle DBs. Now I'm trying to get a better understanding about how these RAID configurations hang together at the hardware level. Can anyone please recommend some reference WEB sites, books, or whatever. I've already down some surfing but most material seems to be about the RAID levels and not about the hardware that is used to manage same. We're a NT shop using COMPAQ servers. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Sean :)
