We are doing this on NT, so I don't have any experience using this on Solaris. The concept is the same however. The browser must have a compliant JVM ( such as IE5 ) or it will need to download and load Jinitiator to run the Java. There should be no need for an X-window to be open. Do you have details on the purpose of having an xterm open? Have you checked MetaLink?
