Yes, I'm pretty sure that's true. We've got SQL*net V2 on some clients and Net8 on others, and all clients can connect to either 7.3.4 databases or 8.0.6.

I've always installed Net8 in the same home directory that SQL*Net V2 was in, so I never really tried running both at once. I didn't need to, because #1 is true.
