I think you will find that some will take exception to your comment. However, if every bird and every tree were the same colour, where would the beauty in seeing lie?
I, too, found it strange to visit France and then the UK. While in France I struggled to understand what was being said. When the plane touched down in London, I felt a sense of relief that I would not need to struggle to understand the language. Boy, was I wrong...but I enjoyed it.

Hmmmmm , i suppose this one depends which flavour (note the spelling) of English
you learned.
I still find it strange, even after living in the States for 18 months (I'm originally from Scotland) to see the lack of the letter 'u' in certain words like colour , flavour and so on.
Also there's the 'er' / 're' mixup as well, with 'center' instead of 'centre'
etc

Though, when I'm down on Broadway in NYC they can't seem to make up their minds
on how to spell 'theatre',
some say 'theatre' and some say 'theater'

go figure !

Is it a disk drive or a disc drive?

I notice... all the time... all the misspellings. I have a proofreader's eye

I think, my eye naturally goes to the mistakes.

I just try to bite my lip and not say anything
